Stone City and Usvin Pillars

The Stone City resembles an ancient settlement, from which only streets and ruins of some stone buildings or gates remain.

But in fact, all this is created by nature - the result of natural changes in the landscape. It is believed that 300 million years ago on the site of the Stone City there were rocks through which the river flowed, breaking through the rocks convenient for themselves, and then flowing into the ancient Perm Sea. What’s left of the water is now visible.

Usvinsky Pillars is a landscape monument of nature of the Perm Territory on the banks of the Usva River, 5 kilometers from the village of the same name.

This is a majestic stone massif of unusual shape, built of limestone, several kilometers long and up to 120 meters high, steeply breaking off at the water itself.

The most interesting and outstanding giant stone of this array is called "Devil's finger". It seems to be held on one thin “leg”, fascinating tourists with its beauty and inaccessibility. Scenes from the films “Time of the First”, “Geographer of the Globe Propyl”, “One”, “Territory” were shot on the Usvin pillars (admiring the unique beauty of the area, comparable to episodes from these films)!
