Auto Walking tour : "Perm - history and modernity"
Description:
Auto - excursion (with pedestrian elements): "Perm - history and modernity" During my excursion, you will hear well-known facts and forgotten interesting stories about our wonderful city and people who connected their fate with it (from the founder of Perm - Vasily Nikitich Tatishchev, to the now living artistic director of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater named after Tchaikovsky - Teodor Currentzis). For example, you will find out who Lenin’s grandfather is and how he is connected with our city?, or why the oldest building in Perm first had a tavern, and then lived in it 17 Governors, or how Perm changed after the Fire of 1842, as well as many facts about the history of our beautiful city. The peculiarity of my excursions is that this is not just a monotonous story, but in some way a quiz with questions to travelers, but do not be afraid, I will not torture you with questions much, but I will tell you more.
A little more detailed route below: This walk we will start from the Monument to V. N. Tatishchev (district Razgulai) place near the river Egoshiha. Next, we will pass to the symbolic “Zero Verst” near the Perm Main Post Office. From the Post Office we will pass to the square of the Opera and Ballet Theater (fortunately across the street), here you will learn what was at the site of the monument to Lenin, before its construction, as well as what kind of fire extinguished the famous pilot V. P. Chkalov in the Opera and Ballet Theater, and of course, about the history of the Theater itself I will tell you. Next, we will go down the street Siberian to the street. Monastery, where I will tell you why A. P. Chekhov could not get into the garden. Im Reshetnikova, the oldest park in Perm, along which our path will lie, then we will go down the street. Monastery to the building of the River Station and the railway station Perm I, on this part of our Journey, we certainly will not ignore the house of N.V. Meshkov, one of the most beautiful buildings of the city, which currently houses the Perm Museum of Local Lore. Then we will drive along the central streets of the city, stopping at the most interesting buildings and structures. During our tour, we will also visit the House of the merchant Gribushin, the Governor’s house (or Pryanishnikov’s house) and finish our route at the building of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral (now given to the Perm Art Gallery). I hope you enjoy the stories of the buildings, the extraordinary people and the streets that created and shaped our wonderful city. And most importantly, during the tour, we will be able to compare how much has changed, this or that place, using photos taken in the early XX century. By agreement, it is possible to collect a group in the Hotel (at the address) By agreement, the route can be changed.
