Cherdyn is one of the oldest cities in the Urals. Arriving in Cherdyn, it is like being transported by a time machine to the past. Walking through the local streets, it seems that he was in the XIX or early XX century. Here, like nowhere else in the Urals, there are many ancient buildings. And in many ways, lifestyle. What kind and friendly people live in this city as in the old days! And I often note that Cherdyn, like Rome, stands on seven hills. “On the seven hills lay ancient Rome. Old Moscow settled on seven hills. By the same quirk of history Cherdyn - the oldest city of the Urals - is located on seven hills on the right bank of Kolva.

Through Cherdyn were roads beyond the Urals. It had extensive trade relations with other countries. In exchange for valuable furs came here, including silverware.
