Communal bridge

crossroads. Hastylova and st. Okulova, Perm, Perm Territory, Russian Federation

Description:

The Communal Bridge is the name of the road-pedestrian bridge over the Kama River. It was built in 1967 and has a length of 998 meters and a width of 18.4 meters, connecting the city center with the coastal part on the opposite bank.

In 2008-2010, the bridge underwent extensive reconstruction. During the repair work, the fences, the lighting system were completely replaced, the roadway was updated and sidewalks on both sides were equipped. Repairs also affected the supporting parts of the bridge, which were strengthened. At the same time, the bridge was equipped with night lighting, which added to its expressiveness. However, the further fate of the bridge is still in question - according to the expert opinion, the operation of the bridge is possible only until 2017, and it is likely that due to wear the bridge will be dismantled.
