ooh Lenina, 2, Perm, Perm Krai, 614,000, Russian Federation

Description:

Vasily Nikitich Tatishchev is a famous Russian statesman, historian, geographer and economist, the creator of the first capital work on the history of Russia. However, he did not just write about history, he also entered it as the founder of several cities, including Perm. It is no coincidence that a monument was erected here, perpetuating the memory of this outstanding person.

The initiative to install a monument to V.N. Tatishchev in Perm was announced in 2001 and came from the city community, and the city administration was the customer of the project. On June 11, 2003, in the year of the celebration of the 280th anniversary of Perm, the grand opening of the monument took place. The sculpture is made of bronze and represents a four-meter figure of the founder of the city. The composition also includes a rectangular granite stepped base, at the corners of which two mortars and cannonballs are installed.

Tatishchev is depicted in full growth, on his shoulders a cape fluttering in the wind is thrown. He seems to inspect the area, planning the future city, and in his hands holds a scroll with the plan of the Yehoshinsky plant. On the pedestal is the text: "Founder of the city of Perm Tatishchev Vasily Nikitich".
