Welcome to the land of Pskov!

I, a local historian, a professional guide, author of historical sketches and videos about the Land of Pskov, Valery Valentinovich Pilyavets, invite you to my excursions.

During the excursion, built in the form of a conversation-communication, we will visit the Pskov Kremlin, and on a sightseeing tour, both in ancient and provincial Pskov.

We look into the distant past of the Pskov land and consider it from different angles, and sometimes this view will differ and even do not coincide with those stories and fables that are enthusiastically published in numerous guidebooks and in various dubious media sources.

Pskov, first of all, is the "House of the Holy Trinity" - the House of God Himself on earth.

And to defend this House, the Pskovites built a powerful impregnable fortress, which throughout the Middle Ages was never captured in battle by numerous enemies coming under its walls.

It is no coincidence that N.M. Karamzin, describing the history of the heroic defense of Pskov in 1581 from the troops of the Polish king Stefan Batory, noted:

The truth that Pskov saved Russia from the greatest danger, the memory of this important merit will not be erased in our history until we lose love for the fatherland and our name.
