Description:
The elegant five-domed building of the Church of the Savior of the Hand-made Image was built on the donations of citizens in 1685-1690. The popular name of the Rug Church arose because parishioners were mainly merchants coming to Rostov.
The height of the building, located on the Trade Square, is explained by the presence of a subclutch on the first level where the goods were stored. An interesting feature of the interior: inside there is no traditional iconostasis, and all the icons are painted on wall stone. During the Soviet Union there was a library in the church. In the early 2000s, the Savior Church was included in the list of historical monuments, and in 2009 the building was returned to the ROC.

Getting by car is easy if you get to the train station. We turn to the city center, we go down the street. Lunacharsky and turn left to the eastern gate of the Rostov Kremlin.
It is easy to walk from the center to the church in 15-20 minutes.
