Excursion "Ryazan literary" involves acquaintance with the names of poets, writers and playwrights one way or another associated with Ryazan. On the tour you will learn who of our fellow Ryazan citizens was the founder of the detective genre in Russia and was hiding under the nickname "Blue Domino", how the Nobel Prize-winning writer B. Pasternak and his novel "Doctor Zhivago" are connected with our city, what a gift the young gymnasist Yasha Polonsky (future poet) received from the hands of the heir Alexander, when the latter came to Ryazan in 1837, what a difficult fate befell the writers N. On the route, we will see a monument to the writer M. Saltykov-Shchedrin, who from 1858-1860 was vice-governor of the Ryazan province. He contributed to the opening of the first public library in Ryazan and a new building of the drama theater. He also fought against bribery and continued to write his satirical stories. He was living on the street at the time. Astrakhan in the house of merchant Morozov.
It was near this house in 2008 that a monument was opened to the famous writer by sculptor A. Cherapkin, who portrayed Saltykov-Shchedrin as very serious and decisive.
