Fungi with eyes

There is a saying: “We have mushrooms with eyes in Ryazan.” They eat, they look" has long been known as one of the symbols of the Ryazan province. And in 2013 it was embodied as a sculptural exhibition, placed in the central city park on Lenin Street. Since then, this place is a must-visit for tourists coming to the city. And the citizens themselves love to sit on benches framing this monument in a circle.

The mushrooms on the monument have detailed features of the human face, special attention is attracted, of course, by kind eyes and long beards in mushrooms. Judging by the legs and hats - these are mushrooms. In addition to them, looking closely, on the monument you can see snails, frogs, as well as various small insects that are found in the territory of the Ryazan region.

The height of the bronze monument “mushrooms with eyes” is 120 centimeters, and together with the pedestal it turns out about 2 meters. The authors of the sculptural composition are architect Maxim Zhuravlev and sculptors Polina and Vasily Gorbunov, who won the competition for the creation of this monument announced by the city administration.
