Museum-estate of Ivan Petrovich Pavlov
Description:
Museum-estate of Ivan Petrovich Pavlov is located on the pedestrian segment of the street of the same name in the city of Ryazan and occupies two houses under numbers 25 and 27. These houses are of medium size, between which there is a common courtyard, outbuildings with various household items, a well, a reconstructed bath, a gazebo house, a garden with fruiting apple trees. In the center of the garden is a bust of academician Pavlov, and under it is written the text of his appeal to Soviet youth.
Entering the house of Pavlov’s parents, you seem to return to the past, everything is like in the childhood of Ivan Petrovich. Through the efforts of the museum staff, the house is kept in perfect order, as was the case with a caring hostess - Varvara Ivanovna - the mother of the scientist. And perseverance, hard work and constant striving for self-improvement, the future academician, by his own admission, inherited from his father - priest Peter Dmitrievich. Antique tables and chairs, benches, lace napkins, starched tablecloths, candlesticks and candelabras, cleaned to shine samovar create the atmosphere of that time.
In the museum you can walk on your own, paying only for the entrance ticket, and you can order a full tour of the estate, if the guide will be present in his place. The second option, of course, is the most preferable, since in this case you will learn a lot of interesting facts from the life of the Pavlov family and will be able to make in your head the most complete picture of the life of the scientist.
In the second house of the estate, which was at the disposal of the museum only in 1968, an exposition is presented, which clearly illustrates the scientific achievements of the great scientist. Ivan Pavlov is the first Russian Nobel laureate for achievements in the field of physiology and psychiatry. The house of science presents a model of the famous dog Pavlov, which everyone knows from high school. Also in other rooms are models, posters and documents, clearly showing all the main discoveries of the scientist.
