About the company:
Rybinsk State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve is the main attraction of the ancient Volga city. It is located in the building of the New Bread Exchange, built according to the project of the Moscow architect A.V. Ivanov on the high bank of the Volga in 1912 in the form of fabulously intricate "Old Russian Chambers".
The museum in Rybinsk was created on the initiative of members of the Rybinsk branch of the Yaroslavl Natural Historical Society in 1910 on the basis of materials by V.S. Mikhalkov (1817-1900), a representative of the oldest noble family, bibliophile and collector, owner of the Petrovsky estate located in the suburbs.
The basis of the art collection is represented by the works of famous masters of the Russian school of the XVIII - early XX century: I.Y. Vishnyakov, I.K. Aivazovsky, Z.E. Serebryakova. The portrait gallery of Counts Musin-Pushkin is widely represented.
The materials of the museum’s funds allow regular thematic exhibitions of various contents and take part in many exhibition projects together with other museums in the region. Various thematic interactive events are available for everyone.
