Yusupov Palace
nab. Moika, 94, St. Petersburg
Description:
At St. Petersburg St. Decembristov, 21A, is located one of the historical monuments of St. Petersburg - Yusupov Palace.
The biography of the Palace can be divided into two periods: "Doyusupov" - until 1830. The Yusupovsky period lasted from 1830 to 1917. All this time, the ownership of the estate was passed down from generation to generation of the Yusupov princes.
Over two centuries, the palace was rebuilt several times, new buildings appeared, the appearance changed. Each room had its own architectural style. But the facade has always remained modest.
After the October Revolution, the Palace of Culture of Education Workers was organized here, which in the 1990s was formed into a multifunctional historical and cultural center combining educational, excursion, exhibition and concert activities.
In the basement where the murder of Rasputin took place, an exhibition "Grigory Rasputin: pages of life and death" with wax figures was opened.
