Conke Monument
Description:
The monument to the konke is part of a sculptural group on Vasilievsky Island. The place was chosen not by chance, because it was on Vasilievsky Island that the largest number of horse routes existed. In honor of the predecessor of modern public transport, this sculptural structure was erected. At the beginning of the century there were about 30 horses in the city. It corresponds to the samples of the horse 1872-1878, the drawings of which were found at the Putilov factory. In 2005, two horse figures appeared (the author of the project A. Ziyakaev). In 2009, he was a cab driver in the company clothes of that time (author of the work I. Penteshin). The car plays the role of a theater box office.
It is located at the intersection of the 7th line and Middle Avenue. Get to the metro station "Vasilyeostrovskaya" and 9 minutes walk.
