Vasilievsky Island is a unique place filled with the history of amazing people and stunning historical events. Like no other district of St. Petersburg, the island retains its original atmosphere, architecture and history.
We will take a walk on the eastern part of the island. It was here, in the heart of St. Petersburg, that Tsar Peter I dreamed of creating his new capital, turning the island into the Venice of the North. Today, this area keeps the atmosphere of St. Petersburg of the XVIII century, being a favorite place for guests and residents of the city.

Our walk will begin at the metro station "Vasileostrovsky", and will end at the metro station "Sportivnaya" (exit to Vasilievsky Island).
The length of the route is 7 kilometers.
Local history walk on Vasilievsky Island is divided into two independent parts, which can be visited sequentially (in any sequence) or choose only one.
