Vasileostrovsky Market

St. Petersburg, Vasileostrovsky district, Big Prokt, V.O., 16

Description:

The largest market on the territory of Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg is the Vasileostrovsky (Andreevsky) market.

Vasileostrovsky Market in St. Petersburg is a pair of spacious and well-equipped buildings that coexist with the well-known Andreevsky Market. The buildings were erected more than half a century ago for the needs of the collective farm market, but active trade in numerous wooden shops here was conducted from the first half of the eighteenth century. On the site of wooden buildings burned down in 1763, stone buildings were erected, which were subsequently rebuilt many times and significantly expanded.

Today, the Vasileostrovsky market is the most modern complex on the Bolshoi Avenue of Vasilyevsky Island, 16/14B (Vasileostrovsky metro). The first gastronomic space attracts residents and guests of St. Petersburg not only with a rich range of goods, but also with restaurants, a “to go” format and a summer veranda.
