Personal impressions of a trip to St. Petersburg

My mother, while still a student, went on an excursion from the Institute to Leningrad, which for several centuries of its existence has changed its name several times and now, as we all know, is called St. Petersburg. Many times she told me, then a little girl, how beautiful and majestic our northern capital.

These stories stuck in my memory and I really wanted to visit St. Petersburg. And here it is! This spring, my husband and I went to St. Petersburg! Impressions, of course, a lot. I want to tell you about the sights we saw during our trip.

Our tour was called “Favorites of the Russian Crown”. On the first day we went on a bus tour, during which we saw Anichkov and the Marble Palace, Mikhailovsky Castle. Stunningly beautiful buildings, you can say, just masterpieces of architecture!
The next day we were waiting for an excursion to the Peter and Paul Fortress and a tour by boat along the rivers and canals from the Peter and Paul Fortress to the Yusupov Palace, which is known for its luxurious interior and the bloody crime of the century - after all, it was here that G. Rasputin was killed.
On the third day - an excursion to the Hermitage - Museum of Fine Art, which was founded by Catherine II. I am very interested in history, and especially everything related to the era of Catherine the Great, so I was very interested, and in general cultural development is useful for everyone. Yes, there is little that we saw during our weekly stay in St. Petersburg - all and not write - this is the Catherine Palace and Park in Tsarskoye Selo, the estate "Kiryanovo", owned by the favorite of Catherine II E. Vorontsova - Dashkova, a country tour to Peterhof, the house of Peter I and much more. And, of course, a night walk along the Neva on drawbridges. I highly recommend visiting St. Petersburg - the impressions will remain for many years and there will be something to tell children and grandchildren!
