Big Obukhov Bridge in St. Petersburg (Cable-top bridge)

The cable-stayed bridge (actually 2 bridges with the official names Big Obukhovsky Bridge 1 and 2) is located in the middle course of the Neva River.
This is the only bridge across the Neva with a round-the-clock movement of 8 lanes.
It is part of the ring road (ring road), the total length of which is 142 km.
The height of the pylons of the bridge is 126 meters (above the Angel on the spire of the Peter and Paul Cathedral by 3.5 meters).
Each pylon has 14 pairs of cables supporting the carriageway.
The total length of the building is 2824 meters.
The bridge is 994 meters long.
Length of the main span 382 meters
The bridge size is 30 meters ~ 9 storey house.
The width of each bridge is 25 meters. Traffic lane 4 on each bridge.
No pedestrian traffic is provided.
Some interesting information.
Vant is a bundle of strings (steel cables) inside a polymer pipe.
Strands in each twist from 13 pieces in the closest to the pylon to 91 units in the farthest.
Each cable was formed from sequentially stretched strands directly during the construction of the bridge.
The string consists of 7 high-strength wires with a diameter of 5 mm each.
The total length of all strands is 900 kilometers.
To create the crossing, an all-metal rigidity beam 2.5 meters high was used (in which the role of concrete is reduced for the sake of operational properties, but the cost is increased).
After the construction of the Great Obukhov Bridge, the maximum height of the vessels was reduced by 10 meters to 30 meters.
More than 10 variants of projects and 4 wings for the placement of the bridge were studied.
For the safety of navigation on the Neva in this place should not be supports - near the curved knee.
Therefore, the supports stand on land and ships cannot have physical contact with them.
Construction since April 15, 2001, and opening of the first stage on December 15, 2004.
The second stage was commissioned on October 19, 2007, and since January 2008, unilateral movement.
