Cave towns are one of the oldest and least studied sights of the Crimea. Most of them are located in the Bakhchisarai district.

We will visit the Chelter Marmara Monastery and the cave town of Eski Kermen.

There are many places in Crimea that impress and amaze the imagination. And one of them is the cave town of Eski Kermen. It is one of the largest and best preserved cave towns. Its construction began in the 6th century on the initiative of the Byzantine authorities of the Crimea.

On the territory of Eski-Kermen there are more than 350 cave structures, so it is considered the most "cave" of all cave towns. Today, abandoned and silent, Eski Kermen was a center of trade and crafts in the Middle Ages. Traveling around the city, you will see the "Temple of the Three Horsemen", carved in a huge stone temple complex "Court", the temple of the Donators, the main city gate, cave casemates, siege well and much more.

After exploring Eski Kermen, we head along the Bilderan plateau to the Chelter Marmara Cave Monastery, which is located on the steep, rocky slopes of the Chelter Kaya Mountain. There was a monastery in the 8th century. Here, archaeologists counted more than 50 caves: cells, refectory, household and utility rooms and 4 churches. In ancient times, they were all connected by wooden staircases, balconies, galleries that resembled an openwork grille. Hence the name Marmara, that is, the lattice.

Mangup Lake at the foot of Mangup Kale Mountain. The lake has an artificial origin and was formed after construction work. Today, Lake Mangup is one of the most favorite vacation spots. Being surrounded by magnificent mountains and forests, which are reflected in the water surface, it constantly changes its color, depending on the time of year. Mangup Lake is not only a favorite and beautiful attraction. This place is associated with numerous legends, legends and mysterious historical facts. And at the bottom of the lake is an ancient Scythian settlement. In the very hot summer months, when the water level drops, at the bottom of the lake you can see the remains of the Scythian basilica and other buildings.

Rest and walk by the lake 30-40 minutes.

• Rest in the cafe (1.30m)
• Return to Sevastopol on Nakhimov Square. The duration of the tour is 7 hours.
