Sevastopol

Excursion "Karadagh and its surroundings"

Description:

The tour route passes first through the suburban zone of Sevastopol. In Simferopol – a small domestic stop. Then we head towards Belogorsk. From the track beyond Belogorsk you can see the famous Ak-Kaya (White Rock) – a wonderful landscape monument of the Crimea.

The village of Koktebel (the name can be translated as “Country of the Blue Peaks”) hides in low mountains on the shore of the picturesque Koktebel Bay. The Uzun-syrt ridge limits Koktebel from the north, and Kara-Dag from the west. The combination of the nearby steppe, mountains and sea creates a special, unique microclimate here. Unusual landscapes and the history of the village, inextricably connected with both people of art and art itself, make Koktebel an interesting object to visit.

You will see unique landscapes with mysterious names: Dead city, the bays of the Frog, Serdolikovaya, the cave of the Three Elephants, the rocks of Satan, Ivan the Robber, the Monomakha Cap, the Roaring Grotto, the Tumanov beam, the Devil's Fingers and, finally, the Golden Gate - a basalt arch 37 meters high and 10-11 meters wide. The Golden Gate is a kind of emblem of Kara-Dag. They are captured in hundreds of paintings, described in verse and prose. They admired the Taurus, Scythians, Genoese and even Odysseus himself. The Karagach ridge is also unusually good: on its amazing peaks and coastal cliffs in a fabulous stupor, a whole "zoo" of stone animals and birds froze.

The boat trip lasts 1.5-2 hours, sometimes up to 3 hours, but you will want it to never end.
A sea walk along Kara-Dag, as a generous gift of nature, surprises with the sight of impregnable rocks and delightful colors of the sea. On a sea tour from Koktebel, you can go both on an ancient schooner, which will make the trip romantic and mysterious, and on a modern boat.
The favorite attraction of passengers is dolphins swimming next to the ship. These wonderful creatures accompany the boat at the very side. They feel safe in the protected area, so fearlessly approach the boats.
The farther the ship sails, the more tempting the grottoes and deserted beaches. Every boulder, ledge or rock has a name. Gravel Bay and Livadia, Capes Dumb and Flat, Strizhovaya and Lighthouse rocks, Mouse Slit and Satan's Grotto are just a few names associated with the history of the extinct Kara-Dag volcano.

And the farther from the shore the ship departs, the more beautiful the azure surface of the sea becomes.

The apotheosis of any chosen cruise will be the passage of the boat under the basalt arch "Golden Gate", where everyone can make a wish by throwing a coin into a stone wall. Then the ship will turn around, substituting the lateral part of the waves, anchor, and everyone who wants to swim can dive into the alluring waters of the Black Sea. There is little time for water procedures, but these minutes are remembered.
