In the Crimean Mountains there is a truly magical place where all romantics, lovers of looking at the stars and learning the secrets of the cosmos aspire. This is the settlement Scientific, located 25 kilometers from Simferopol at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level.
In total, there are more than 20 telescopes on the territory: for studying the sun, gamma rays, radio telescopes and many, many others. It was here, in the center of Crimea, that more than 1,500 asteroids, 2 comets, many variable stars, volcanic phenomena on the moon were discovered!

The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours. Visitors get acquainted with the museum dedicated to astronomical and space research, observe the work of huge mechanisms in the towers of telescopes. Admire the luxurious views of Chatyrdag, Babugan, Yalta Yaylu. And on the opposite side, Mount Tepe-Kermen is clearly visible, it is also called “Hedgehog” for its characteristic profile. Useful advice:
If you are going on an evening excursion, take flashlights with you, because the observatory is very poorly lit.
The observatory is located at an altitude of 600 m above sea level, so it is noticeably cooler here than in Simferopol, Sevastopol or on the SBC. On average, the temperature difference is 3-5 degrees, at night in a clear sky is not hot at all - so bring warm clothes.
