Tour "Popovka Beaches"

We are talking about the first basis for contradictions – there are two Kazantips in Crimea. Between them lay a good 220 km. The first is the cape of the Kerch Peninsula, bordering Kazantip Bay, which is a protected area. The second is a spacious stretch of coast near the village of Popovka on the West Crimean Bank.

The name is not accidental. Both points on the coast are united by the festival of electronic music, long held in the summer in the Crimea on a regular basis. It was born on the Cape.

But then the reserve staff seemed to see modern musical masterpieces as an environmental hazard. For this reason, in 2001 the event moved to Popovka, where it lived until 2013. There was a difference in the names – photos from Kazantip beach local partygoers called the territory KaZantip, not too worried about the rules of grammar.

Opinions of the Crimeans and guests of the peninsula about the festival and the beach on which it is located diverged immediately and forever. Young people, who cannot imagine a good rest without a tank of beer and wild dances to the rhythms, decibels like the explosion of the atomic arsenal, immediately proclaimed the priestly Kazantip the best beach in the Crimea. A “republic” with a “government” and a “constitution” arose on its territory, the main norm of which required living solely for pleasure. In addition to the actual festival procession, there were held thematic parties, various meetings and “party” events.

The water in the area is clean and warm. The attention of teenagers and young people invariably attract local attractions – the remains of pavilions and scenes. Fans of extreme sports risk climbing them, the rest usually only take pictures - the view of the buildings is unusual.

Western Crimea north of Yevpatoria is sparsely populated and not too popular among tourists. But it is here, on the Beliaus Spit, that the most beautiful beaches of the peninsula are located. Due to the purest turquoise water and very light, almost white sand, this place is called the Crimean Maldives. The cleanest sea, wide sandy beach, silence and privacy attract fans of wild tourism here.

The climate of the steppe Crimea is not as mild as on the SBC, but the sea warms up quickly, since the bottom near the coast is shallow. Already in May, the water temperature reaches 20 ° C and does not cool down until the end of October. In the afternoon there is often a strong wind. The best time to relax on Bellaus is from July to August.

Vegetation is steppe, scarce. In the heat, the air is filled with a sweet-bitter aroma of Crimean wormwood. In June, the steppe turns red with poppies. In the morning you can meet shy rabbits. Rare trees grow along the road, and on the beach there is nowhere to hide from the sun, it is necessary to install awnings.

The beaches of Belius are good not only with white sand formed from the wave-run shards of shells, but also with a flat sandy bottom without stones, algae and other obstacles. Sometimes jellyfish come in. Dolphins often swim to the beaches, driving flocks of fish into shallow water.

The water is very warm (up to 30°C) and so clean that the bottom can be seen at any depth. Even in a storm, the sea remains clear. The reason for this is the lack of river runoff and sewage and the shell origin of the sand. The entrance to the water is very smooth, so babies can swim without fear. The territory of the beaches is huge, in the morning you do not need to hurry here to take a place, as is often the case on the narrow crowded beaches of the SBC.

Another plus of Belius braids is that in bad weather, when the sea is stormy, you do not need to give up swimming. After all, on the other side of the spit is the bay of Donuzlav with warm and calm water.
