Excursion "On the Catherine trails"

Description:

The task of the trips is to climb the Catherine road (in a large area it coincides with the Uzenbash trail) to Dereka-Yayla, adjacent from the north to the Yalta yayla; then along the yayla to circumnavigate, leaving on the left, the Sungurtu mountain ("Sungu" in translation from the Turkic "Shilo") - 1333 meters; go down to the tourist parking lot "Kosh" and from there return to the village of the river.

At first, we will climb the Catherine Road to the tourist parking lot "Mogorea", but we will go towards the Small Canyon, and turn to the right, continue climbing along the road.

Soon we will arrive at the first fork – one road continued straight, and the second will turn right.

The road will smoothly gain altitude, skirting the upper reaches of deep gorges. The most remarkable here was a slender beech forest, close to the road. The trees were so tightly pressed against each other that the rays of the sun could not penetrate deep and the trunks of the beeches would be invisible.

Then the road deviated into the upper reaches of the branching left gorge of Khanly-Dere (Bloody ravine) and soon we will rise to the non-drying spring of Eki-Tekne (Two troughs). Instead of two troughs, there is only one, but the main thing is that the source has not dried up even in this dry time.

After parting with Bulldozer-Strasse, we will climb to Derek-Yayla ("tree" - ravine, "koi" - village) and continued on the same Catherine road.
Here we are waiting for beautiful views of the Crimean mountains.

After the descent to the Multiple Rivers, we will rest on Swan Lake, where we will be greeted by graceful and mysterious birds - swans.
