City of the Forgotten Name
Description:
Eski-Kermen - one of the largest and picturesque cave cities of the Crimea, was a major center of trade and crafts, like all other cave cities of the Crimea, destroyed in the Middle Ages. For nearly a thousand years, the site has remained abandoned and silent. In total, there are about 400 caves in the rocks inside the city and nearby. Such a number of artificial dungeons allows you to call the settlement the most “cave” of all the cave cities of the Crimea. For active travelers, there is the possibility of descending to the siege well (it is desirable to have a flashlight with you).
The main thing: cave temples with frescoes, defensive casemates, patrol complexes.
Optional (agreed in advance): climb to the ruins of the Syuren Fortress, a visit to the current monastery of St. Theodor Stratilat in the caves of the medieval monastery of Chelter-Koba; in Bakhchisarai - Khan's Palace, the Assumption Cave Monastery, lunch in the national Crimean Tatar cafe, the historical and archaeological complex "Salachik", the ethnographic museum of the Crimean Tatars "Dervi", the "Beaded temple" of St. Anastacia - the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery of the Monastery
