Tilsit - the city of peace and cheese
Description:
Excursion to the Russian-Lithuanian border, to the city of Sovetsk, the legendary Tilsit.
The city, which in 1807 was visited simultaneously by Napoleon Bonaparte, the Russian Emperor Alexander1 and the Prussian royal couple, and the famous Treaty of Tilsit was signed.
The town where farmers invented the legendary Tilziter cheese. Today, the city of Sovetsk is one of the most attractive cities of the Kaliningrad region: one attraction replaces another, a magnificent pedestrian zone with restored burgher houses, an open-air museum of military equipment and, of course, the Queen Louise Bridge.
We will take a walk around the city, plunge into the history of days gone by, and I will tell you about the lives of kings and emperors, about the role women played in their lives and political events.
Be sure to stop in Neman to take a look at Ragnit Castle and visit the cheese factory, which produces cheeses according to ancient recipes. We won’t talk much about war because Tilsit is a city of peace and cheese.
The price includes:
A tour guide's job on a car. Tour escort on the way.
