Wooden bridge over the river Kamenka
Description:
The wooden bridge over the Kamenka River in Suzdal has long been a separate attraction of the city. This bridge serves as a crossing between the Suzdal Kremlin and the Museum of wooden architecture. Despite the simplicity of the bridge itself, the place is quite picturesque - it overlooks the surroundings, and two churches are reflected in the river: the Nativity of John the Forerunner and the Epiphany.
But with a large flow of tourists, this bridge is a danger to people. Therefore, expedition companies limit the number of travelers who can visit the site at the same time. The width of the bridge is only about 140 centimeters, and the railing does not inspire confidence, therefore, being at the crossing, you should take the utmost care.
Kamenka itself is a tributary of the Nerli River, on which the ancient city of Suzdal is located. Previously, merchant ships sailed along the Kamenka River, the route of which stretched to the Caspian Sea. Now it is a shallow river with clean water, through which you can see a rocky bottom (apparently in honor of this name).
