Monument to Chernobyl
Description:
On April 26, 2011, a monument to the heroes-liquidators of the Chernobyl accident was opened in the city of Suzdal. The city and its residents have been waiting for this event for more than 15 years. The monument was located at the Eternal Flame on the 25th anniversary of the disaster. You can get there by any means, as the monument is located near the main street of Lenin.
A granite monument in the size of two meters was made at the Moscow stone processing plant in the city of Dolgoprudny. The project was created by an employee of the administration of the Suzdal district - architect Natalia Elisovna Kupriyanova.
300 young Suzdal guys were sent to eliminate the consequences of that terrible nuclear catastrophe. To date, only a few dozen remain alive.
Granite for the monument was brought from the Tokimovskoye field (Mountain Tokimovka). With the same material, a memorial to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War was previously made. Interestingly, these two monuments are close to each other. And due to the fact that the color scheme of the monuments coincides – unites them in a holistic architectural ensemble.
