Peter and Paul Church of 1694
Peter and Paul Church, Pokrovsky Monastery, Suzdal, Vladimir Region, Russia
Description:
The Peter and Paul Church was built in the late 17th century.
With its powerful structure, covered by a closed vault, the temple resembles a cathedral, and not an ordinary parish church. Also in the temple there was a tent bell tower, but in the revolution it was destroyed. The church was built in accordance with other buildings of the ancient Pokrovsky monastery.
The building was led by Metropolitan Hilarion.
The decoration of the temple is strict, but modest. The walls of the church are divided into three parts by vertical blades. Between them are windows with beautiful casings.
From the west to the paper leads a promising port. Roof drums rely on kokoshniks.
The image of the temple is made by modern window casings, promising portals, a figure cornice and a bypass gallery. You can get acquainted with this monumental building in the city of Suzdal on Pokrovskaya Street.
