Lenin Street
Russia, Vladimir region, Suzdal, Lenin Street
Description:
One of the longest and most important streets of the city is Lenin Street. But it was not always like this: before the revolution, this street was divided into two parts - the northern (Ivanovskaya Street) and the southern (Vladimirskaya Street). And already in Soviet times, they were combined into one, 3.5 kilometers long.
The street runs through the city center from north to south. There are many attractions of the city on it, among which are: the Rizopolozhensky and Spaso-Eufimiev monasteries, the Gostiny Dvor and the Smolensk Church.
Walking along Lenin Street, no traveler will remain indifferent. Here you can find many old, but very beautiful houses, the design of which is made by the best local craftsmen. From this street you can see almost all the spiritual buildings of the city.
On the main street of the city there is an eternal flame and a monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. But some citizens of Suzdal believe that this street should return its former historical names, since Lenin himself never visited this city.
In some places, paving stones have been preserved since the early 19th century. Walks along Lenin Street are included in all tourist routes, which explains the constant movement of large crowds of tourists and residents of the city.
