Museum-Reserve of S.V. Rachmaninov "Ivanovka" Museum

The reconstruction of Ivanovka began with the resolution of the Bureau of the Tambov Regional Committee of the CPSU and the Regional Executive Committee No. 550 of July 29, 1968. “On perpetuating the memory of S.V. Rachmaninov”.

This decision was preceded by a large organizational work carried out by the public of the Tambov region.

Of particular interest to Ivanovka was the publication of D.V. Kalashnikov on the pages of the newspaper Tambovskaya Pravda. D.V. Kalashnikov was the author of the book “Schoolchildren about S.V. Rachmaninov”, the booklet “Rachmaninovsky places of the Tambov region”. In his publications, D.V. Kalashnikov raised the issue of recreating Ivanovka.

On May 26, 1968, in the building of the Ivanovo village club, the staff of the Tambov Regional Museum, under the leadership of L.N. Rostislavskaya, creates a room-museum of S.V. Rachmaninov. The head of the public museum was the teacher of the local music school L.A. Timashevich. In Ivanovka began to hold the annual Days of music of S.V. Rachmaninov. In 1971, a collection of materials and documents “S.V. Rachmaninov in Ivanovka” was published in Voronezh. Compiler of the collection and author of the foreword N.N. Emelyanov. In the same year, the foundation of the wing was laid (the project of architect V.M. Belousov).
