Ufa

The railway station

Description:

Ufa railway station is one of the most important transport hubs of the Kuibyshev railway and connects the region with the largest cities of Russia. Every day dozens and even hundreds of trains go to different regions of our vast country. In 1885, the project of the first railway was approved, which was to connect Samara, Ufa, Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg. In 1888, the construction of a railway bridge across the White River was completed. Thus began the railway history of Ufa.

The railway station in Ufa has experienced many events in its long history. Despite the fact that he always stayed in the same place, in different years several buildings replaced each other. The solemn laying of the first station building and other structures took place in 1886. The very first building was temporary and was built of wood. A new stone building appeared in 1888. It was designed by F. Essen and made in an eclectic style.

Built in the late XIX century, the station building stood until the 1960s and was demolished due to the need to build a new building. Despite the fact that the adjacent territory allowed the two buildings to coexist, it was decided to demolish. The author of the project of the new station was the architect K. Gottlieb. Construction was completed in 1970, at the same time the station was opened.
