In the holy places of Uglich

Uglich is an ancient city on the Volga, founded in 937. The city was so moistened in antiquity that it has a special energy of spirituality, even in the 15th century in the Uglich principality there were 150 churches and 12 monasteries (now only from such a wealth of 33 churches in the Uglich district and 4 active monasteries). All this can be visited in my excursion "To the holy places of Uglich". The tour includes a visit to 3 monasteries of the city, and, if desired, one Old Believer convent.

1.Resurrection Monastery (founded at the end of the 13th century). Here are the relics of the monk-schema Simeon Ulyanov, who has remained incorruptible for more than 300 years.

2.The Epiphany Women's Monastery (popularly called Tsaritsino Bogomolieu), because one of the queens founded it. Three versions (Evdokia (wife of Dmitry Donskoy, Maria Nagaya (mother of Tsarevich Dimitri, who tragically died in Uglich), Ksenia Shestov (mother of Mikhail Roman, was born in Uglich).

3.Alekseevsky convent, founded in the 14th century.
