Christmas in Uglich

We invite you to spend Christmas holidays in the ancient city of Uglich! The excursion program is designed for 3 days.
1 day
07:45 – the group gathers at the VDNKh metro station.
08:00 – departure to Rostov the Great. Tour on the way.
11:00 – visit to the Rostov Kremlin, inspection of the exterior. The Kremlin is the residence of local metropolitans and bishops. You will admire the architectural ensemble of the Rostov Kremlin. You will see the Assumption Cathedral, built in the XVI century. On the unique belfry fully preserved 15 bells. You will also walk through the Bishops’ Court, Cathedral Square and the Metropolitan Garden.
14:00 – lunch at the city restaurant.
15:00 - departure to Uglich.
18:00 – Accommodation in the hotel “Chaika 3*”. In your free time, you can walk around Uglich.
20:00 – dinner in a hotel restaurant.

08:00 – Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
09:00 – departure to Martynovo – the capital of the ancient Katsk camp. We will give you an interesting tour of these places. In the western part of the Yaroslavl region there is a small river called Kadka. Its length is not more than 57 km. People living on its shores are called Katskari. It is a Russian people with a special dialect, customs and folklore. You will learn interesting katsky myths, get acquainted with the life of peasants of the XIX-XX centuries, plunge into their life. In the garden you will see amazing animals. And then go to the Katzkarei Museum, which is a hut built at the end of the XIX century. All things in it are in their places in an untouched state. Then you will find a theatrical performance of Komennichanye in the Katsk dialect.
13:00 - lunch. You will be treated to dishes from a Russian oven - soup, potatoes with chicken, sour cream, pies, pestilence, ghee milk, and drunk with aromatic tea.
Departure to Myshkin. This is an original city-museum of the Russian province, where ancient merchant buildings have been preserved and where there is an authentic way of life. The city is known for masters of blacksmithing and pottery.
15:00 – sightseeing tour of Myshkin. You will walk along the Avenue of Glory, visit the Assumption Cathedral, visit the Museum “Russian Valenki”, which presents the expositions “Len” and “Sisters and brothers Valenka”. In the house of crafts you will be shown a real forge and pottery workshop.
And then you will find a unique Mouse Museum, where a unique atmosphere reigns. You will be greeted by none other than the king and queen. They will tell you how hard the royal life is, and how to escape from cat tricks. You will be allowed to scour your hands in the royal bins, and in the twilight of the royal menagerie you will see exotic living mice.
20:00 – dinner in the hotel restaurant. Then you will find a show program with live vocals, “interactive dialogue”, Christmas divinations, competitions, performances of musical ensembles and soloists: Evgeny Kogan and Elena Drozd.

08:00 – Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
09:00 – sightseeing tour of Uglich with a visit to the Uglich Kremlin – the historical and town-planning foundation of the city, the Chambers of Tsarevich Dmitry – the only building on the territory of the Kremlin, preserved from the XV century, and the Church of Dmitry on Blood, erected in memory of Tsarevich Dmitry, who died on this site. This event is reflected in the internal paintings of the church.
Then you will visit the Transfiguration Cathedral – the cathedral of the city of Uglich. It is in the center of the Kremlin. In the Assumption “Brave” Church of the Alekseevsky Monastery you will see the miraculous image of the Mother of God.
14:00 – lunch at the city restaurant.
