Departure at 7:45.
Tour on the way to Kalyazin. A magnificent view of the bell tower, once belonging to the Nikolsky Cathedral. This is the only structure of the temple complex that survived after the flooding of the territory under the Uglich hydroelectric power station.
The first chronicles of this area belong to the XII century. Five centuries later, the future Emperor Peter I made training “fun” campaigns here. In 1939-1940, the territory came under flooding in connection with the construction and launch of the Uglich HPP. The ensemble of the monastery with adjacent buildings was under water, only the bell tower remained.

The settlement was founded in 937 by a relative of Princess Olga, Prince Jan Pleskovic. Here in 1148 unfolded one of the dramatic pages of the reign of Yuri Dolgoruky, forced to resist the princely strife. Uglich experienced a difficult history: it was part of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality, survived the destruction, was later restored and included in the Moscow principality. In 1591, the son of John the Terrible Demetrius died here under mysterious circumstances.

14:00 The beginning of the tour in Uglich. The combination of the beauty of the local nature and unique historical buildings makes a lasting impression. Guests will see the Uglich Kremlin, the Chamber of Tsarevich Dmitry (the date of construction of the XV century) and the Church of Dmitry on Blood. The surviving murals of the temple walls describe this dramatic event in detail. Also during the tour we will visit the Cathedral of the Transfiguration and the Assumption Church in the complex of the Alekseevsky Monastery, called “Wonderful” due to the miraculous icon of the Mother of God stored inside.

Day two
7:30 Hotel breakfast
08:30 Departure to the city of Myshkin, a provincial city-museum, famous for the workshop work of local artisans. The first settlements existed here thousands of years before our era. The settlement, built in the XII-XIII centuries, did not survive the Tatar-Mongol invasion and was destroyed in 1238.
09:15 Sightseeing tour. Tourists will see the Assumption Cathedral, the local alley of glory, the unique exposition "Russian Valenki", exhibitions of the house of crafts, where the pottery and blacksmith workshops are recreated. And, of course, we will visit the Myshkins Chamber, where we will get acquainted with the living inhabitants of the museum.
12:00 Departure to Martynovo. The capital of Katskoye Stan will please guests with a fascinating story about local life and expositions of the local Katskarei Museum.
14:00 Musical performance in Katsk dialect. At its completion, guests will be offered a delicious treat directly from the Russian stove: fragrant shy, potatoes with chicken, Russian pies and pickles.
