The museum opened to visitors in 1981 and had expositions dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and the sister city of Velki Krtish (Czechoslovakia). For 20 years of existence, halls of archaeological finds and objects of rural and urban life (XVII-XIX centuries) were decorated. Of particular interest are the excavation materials of the ancient Russian city of Kornik (XII-XIV centuries), burial mounds, as well as a collection of cold weapons (axes, sabers).
A considerable interest of visitors is caused by the paintings of artists whose life and work are associated with the Venevsk land: N.A.Lunev, A.G.Kovalyov, I.I.Danilov, M.N.Bryadov. The exposition of the hall of the Great Patriotic War contains documents, maps, schemes, photographs, awards, weapons. |
