Salazkino Manor

ooh Olympic, Vidnoye, Leninsky district, Moscow region, Russian Federation

Description:

Historical evidence about the estate of Salazkino, located in the city of Vidnoye, is extremely scanty and sketchy. It is known that it was founded at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries by the merchant Salazkin, from whose name it received its name. After the death of the first owner, the estate until the revolution of 1917 belonged to his closest relatives. To this day, fragments of the main house, some outbuildings and service buildings, part of the lime park on the banks of the Zhuravenki River have been preserved in a dilapidated state. All valuables were looted after the revolution.

The remains of some manor buildings were in use until recently, despite their horrific condition. In the literature, brief characteristics of the estate complex have been preserved. The main merchant house was designed very original. By the beginning of the twentieth century, traditional elements of external design in the form of porticoes with columns have already gone out of fashion, and details in the style of romanticism have gained popularity. Above the corner blades of the house once towered small spires, decorated in the same style with the tower that adorned the main entrance. Now all this beauty can be recreated only through imagination and books.
