Resurrection Manor

subsidiary farm "Voskresenskoe", Leninsky district, Moscow region, Russian Federation

Description:

In the list of lost monuments of architecture is the construction of the estate Resurrection. From the former splendor to the present day, only an old abandoned park has survived, stretching on the banks of the Yazvenka River. This estate in 1910 was acquired by a major Russian entrepreneur Nikolai Karlovich von Meck, who held the post of chairman of the board of the Moscow-Ryazan Railway Society. Having at his disposal considerable funds von Meck began a large-scale reconstruction of the estate.

The new owner turned the abandoned estate into a large estate that met all the trends of the time. All wooden cottages were demolished, the stone house was restored, the interior was completely updated. A water storage tank was installed in the attic, a water supply was carried out. The main house was surrounded by lush bushes of lilacs and a magnificent rose garden. Restructuring also affected outbuildings - a building designed for a barn, stable, pigsty and poultry house is being built, as well as separate rooms for passenger cars, a carriage shed, a water tower and much more. In one of the buildings was a dynamo machine that served to generate electricity.

The complex of manor buildings included about 50 buildings. All this splendor was complemented by a vast park with ancient trees and shady alleys. The owners of the estate were actively engaged in breeding horses of the Brabasonic breed and thoroughbred cattle. However, unfortunately, after the revolution, the estate was abandoned and in the following years was gradually destroyed.
