Excursion to Kideksha

The amazing ancient village of Kideksha is located near Suzdal. And if history had gone a little differently, the capital of our homeland could have been Kideksha. After all, in the XII century there was a fortified residence of Prince Yuri Dolgorukov - a rather large settlement, and not just a princely courtyard.

Excursion to Kideksha, hidden among the vast fields at the mouth of the Kamenka River, is a journey to the origins of white-stone architecture. You will learn what was the residence of the famous Suzdal prince, which forced him to put a fortress and his courtyard not in the city, but in four versts from him. And the main pearl of the architectural ensemble Kideksha, which annually attracts thousands of tourists, is the Church of Boris and Gleb. Inside you can see fragments of frescoes of the XII century, the foundation of the ancient throne and recently discovered by archaeologists the only medieval omphaly in Russia.
