“Gusev” and “Villa Sofia”: a gourmet journey through the world of wine and cheese

It is known that the combination of such products as cheese and wine is very harmonious and useful in moderation, and lovers of consumption of this delicate "combination" are called gourmets. On this trip you will be able to feel yourself as subtle connoisseurs of shades of tastes and bouquets, and at the same time learn what homemade wines and types of cheese the Volgograd region is famous for.

First, we will go to the vicinity of the city of Dubovka. On the way, you will learn the history of this merchant city and the way of its life and understand why Dubovka did not become a provincial city, although it had every chance. After that, we will visit the Gusev winery, where you will not only learn the history of the formation of production, but also be able to taste (and if you want to buy) several delicious wines (white, pink, red, sparkling), as well as various varieties of cheeses (they are very tasty!).

Then our way will lie in the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain, to the estate "Villa Sofia", specializing in the production of dry wines. “Villa Sophia” is a cozy place where you will not only have a tour to the production and treat you with various wines, but also provide an opportunity to fish and swim in the pool (for an additional fee). The excursion program varies depending on the time of year (for example, in autumn you can get to the process of bottling finished wine on bottles). The territory of Villa Sofia is ennobled and good for photo shoots, especially in the warm period.

If you get on my tour in July-August, then on the way from Villa Sofia we will stop at the famous Lotus Lake – a unique reservoir of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain, where the northernmost lotuses grow in Russia. There you can take unforgettable photos of flowering lotuses.
