Pearls of Yalta
Description:
Livadia is a royal estate. At the beginning of the 20th century, the builders took only 17 months to build a magnificent palace for the Romanov family. The palace is a unique pearl of the southern coast of Crimea. Livadia estate for more than 50 years served as the summer residence of three families of Russian tsars: Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II. Created by the talent of the architect Krasnov in the first decade of the last century, the palace still attracts travelers from different parts of the globe. In February 1945, the Yalta Conference was held here, within the framework of which the leaders of the three Allied powers met: the USSR (Josef Vissarionovich Stalin), Great Britain (Winston Churchill) and the United States (Theodore Roosevelt), who agreed here on the organization of postwar Europe.
Visit to the Palace Church of the Cross. The church was created in the Byzantine style. The temple is small, because it was designed only for the imperial family and the immediate environment. There was a memorial service for the late Emperor Alexander III, took the oath of allegiance to the Russian throne Nicholas II and here the bride of Nicholas Princess Alice of Hesse adopted Orthodoxy.
As symbols of Paris are considered the Eiffel Tower and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, London - recognizable from everywhere Big Ben, Moscow - of course, the Kremlin, so the city of Alupka opens to the visitor park and palace of Count M. S. Vorontsov or, as it is simply called - Vorontsov Palace in Alupka. And it is to visit the count that we will go.
Land in the vicinity of Alupka in 1824 began to buy up the incoming Governor-General of the Novorossiysk Territory count Mikhail Semenovich Vorontsov (1782-1856). It is not by chance that he chose this small village under the teeth of Ai-Petri for his summer residence. At the foot of the mountain there are many springs; merging into streams and looping between the rocks, they carry their pure waters into the sea. At the same time, the park was built in the English style. Combining two completely different styles - Moorish and English Gothic, the palace amazes the modern viewer with a bright originality of architectural forms. The beauty of the palace is not only in the original artistic and expressive image, but also in how skillfully the terrain is used in its layout. It seems that the palace grows out of the surrounding nature.
Next we will go to the castle, hovering between the sky and the sea. On the edge of the 40-meter Aurorina cliff, hanging over the sea, a miniature snow-white building called Swallow's Nest is located. This monument of architecture and history, immortalized on the coat of arms of the village of Gaspra, is rightfully considered a symbol of the South Bank.
But the return to Yalta will be romantic. A comfortable boat will take us to Yalta. All the most legendary Crimean places will swim past us.
