Yaroslavl

Slow walk along the Volga embankment

Description:

This tour is suitable for those who want to get a general idea of Yaroslavl without getting tired. Its route is short (only 1.5 km!), but very rich in architectural monuments of different eras. This is a combination of a pleasant leisurely walk with sightseeing and unobtrusive information. This is especially true for families with young children: children walk and enjoy the Volga expanses, and parents satisfy their cognitive needs. The participants of the excursion will get acquainted with the history of the creation of the Volga embankment, with its versatile construction, where luxurious buildings of the XVIII-XIX centuries, and temples, and houses of the Soviet period, and centuries-old lime trees intertwine. The culmination of this walk will be a panorama of Strelka - the place of confluence of two rivers and acquaintance with the early history of Yaroslavl. The famous playwright A.N. Ostrovsky, visiting Yaroslavl in the middle of the XIX century, wrote in his diary "The embankment on the Volga is so much as good!" Make sure you visit this tour yourself!
