Active rest in Yaroslavl (winter and summer!)
Description:
Active rest in Yaroslavl in winter and summer
Good afternoon, my travelers!
Today I will tell you how to spend time in Yaroslavl and not get bored! The city offers many options for active recreation.
The Yaroslavl people themselves have always been known as an energetic and cheerful people, and in the 19th century Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol described the “prompt Yaroslavl peasant”, who famously managed to harness the Russian three. We draw a conclusion: if you want to do active rest, please go to Yaroslavl!
Along the waterfront
In Yaroslavl on the embankment of the Volga, you can rent bicycles and rollers and ride under the shadow of linden, among the wonderful landscapes, admire Strelka and ancient merchant houses. For athletes, there is a bicycle path, where cars are prohibited from entering. On the same track you can run in the morning and in the evening, when a fresh breeze blows from the Volga, ride rollers and scooters. The Volga (Arsenal) Tower has tennis courts, so bring rackets and a ball with you on your trip!
On the river-wave
Yaroslavl was founded at the confluence of two rivers - the Volga and Kotorosli, so there are many opportunities for water sports. You can swim in Kotorosli on catamarans, kayaks and even yachts. By the way, in Yaroslavl there is a production of yachts and boats that sail not only to Porto Fino, but also to distant Brazil. On the Volga there are pleasure ships, river trams and cruise ships. The most popular river direction within the city is St. Vvedensky Tolga Monastery - a corner of paradise on Earth. In summer, the monastery is buried in flowers: these are roses, lilies, hydrangea, petunia.
If you like to swim, there are two beaches for you - on Kotorosli, near the Transfiguration Monastery, and on the opposite bank of the Volga in Tveritsa, as well as wonderful Prusov quarries (and next to the pine forest with lilies and strawberries).
Toddlers.
I will immediately tell traveling kids: all the most interesting is beyond the Volga. There is a children's railway, where conductors and drivers are children, future railway workers. On the way you can admire the amber pine forest, quiet forest paths. The kids will love it. Then we go to the zoo: there you can not only look at the animals freely walking through the spacious cages, but also run after them in the contact zoo - the rest is active. Then I invite the little guests to the courtyard of Alyosha Popovich (on the right bank!) - for cakes. Kids themselves bake pizza in a Russian stove and treat adults. I've never tasted such delicious pizza anywhere, maybe the secret is in the wonderful baby pens. We ate, and on the carousel. On the island of Damansky - a small Yaroslavl Disneyland. There is also a kart that dads really like.
Everybody dance!
The evening comes, the sun sets affectionately, over the Volga and Koroloslya the sky is painted in gentle milky-blue and pink-purple tones, and we are going to dance! In Yaroslavl, they love dancing very much: Russian folk dances, ballroom dances, modern dances and many others, are danced in cafes and restaurants and even on the Volga embankment. Yes, sometimes a waltz is danced to the orchestra on the embankment to the songs of the war years. In the House of the Governor you can visit a real ball. On New Year’s Day, Birthday and Wedding in Yaroslavl, everyone dances!
Horses are ragged.
If you like equestrian sports, welcome to the equestrian school beyond the Volga! In addition, in the Youth Square near the Theatre of the Young Spectator and on the island of Damansky you can always ride a carriage or horseback, and kids ride on miniature brightly decorated pony. There's a little deer. A few years ago, the embankment was ridden by the amazing beauty of the mounted police, and in the 2000s, the three-year competitions were almost the main winter event and were second only to the Yaroslavl Maslenitsa.
Winter-cold
In Yaroslavl and in winter to get bored once: skis, sleds, skates, hockey. Hockey is our favorite sport, that’s everything. As in Soviet times every boy dreamed of becoming an astronaut, in Yaroslavl everyone dreams of becoming a hockey player. You can play hockey, or you can cheer for your favorite team - Yaroslavl Lokomotiv. Do you want to go skiing, sledging or "vatrushki"? - the Trans-Volga forests and Yaroslavl slides are waiting for you! Everywhere is very beautiful: snowy forest, fluffy snowdrifts, silvery branches. If you like to fight, you can play laser tag.
Let's go back to the city and go straight to the rink! In Yaroslavl they are apparently invisible. Large and small, covered and under the open sky. The most beautiful - on Ilyinskaya (Soviet) square by a shining Christmas tree. The skating rink go even on January 1 - as the New Year meets it and spend it - not in front of the TV to miss!
Madame Maslenica
In Yaroslavl, the main Shrovetsa of the country takes place and it begins with a cheerful and bright masquerade procession throughout the city. The city is decorated with funny and colorful effigies.
During the Yaroslavl Shrovetsa, guests and residents of the city not only enjoy pancakes, but also like to remember old games and fun: tug of war, pillow fighting and even wall-to-wall fighting! If there is still snow, then you can build a snow town and ride from the mountains. Do not be surprised: in Yaroslavl, even adults are not alien to such entertainment, so you can safely plunge into children's fun.
Year-round joy!
Unusual museums
In Yaroslavl, there are many unusual museums: for example, the Museum of Entertainment Sciences of Einstein, where you can lift a car with levers, study the properties of lightning, determine the strength of your voice with electric light bulbs, the Model of the Golden Ring of Russia, where you can see ancient Russian cities in miniature (and in motion), Music and Time, where you can listen to the sound of musical instruments of the 19th century, hear the bells ringing.
In the Yaroslavl Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve there is an opportunity to climb the belfry 32 meters and admire Yaroslavl from a bird's eye view, and in the Museum of the history of the city to learn all about how Yaroslavl merchants greeted guests and play phantoms, make a production in the puppet theater (the program "Yaroslavl and Yaroslavl") and even to marry in the old-fashioned way.
Quest tours
For intellectuals and polymaths - an unusual excursion quest! This is not a classic excursion, but a walk with tasks on attention, memory, logic! Tour with surprises and gifts! Tourists themselves reveal the secrets of the history of the city, have fun and useful time, and in the end the winners receive well-deserved prizes! There are no losers in this game!
I have listed only some opportunities for outdoor activities in Yaroslavl. Usually, these are traditional games and fun that were familiar to our grandparents. However, Yaroslavl is always ready to meet the new, innovative and be ahead of the planet, and guests can make any choice!
I wish you a good active rest and a wonderful feeling!
