In Dracula's footsteps
Description:
This tour is for the whole day. The exit point is Bucharest. We will drive to the north about 80 km, where in the city of Targovisht tourists will get acquainted with the Princely Court of the Vlash princes, from where once in the middle of the 15th century Vlad III Basarab, known to us as Dracula or Tsepes (Colossor), ruled.
After that, a move to the city of Curtea de Arges, where tourists will be shown the most beautiful monastery in Romania - the Arjes Monastery. Tourists will be told the tragic legend of the master Manola, who built it in the early 16th century. In the early 20th century, the monastery church became a family tomb for the Romanian royal family.
After that, a further move to the north, where in the town of Arefu we will pause for a photo stop in front of Poenar Castle, built at the behest of Dracula and in which the latter bravely fought during the Turkish siege. At the end of the excursion program, we will drive a little along a small stretch of the high-altitude Transfagareshan road and make a photo sop near the mountain lake Vidraru.
Back to Bucharest.
