Arad International Airport

Description:

Arad International Airport is located 4 kilometers from the city of the same name, 250 kilometers from Budapest and 300 kilometers from Belgrade.

On July 14, 1912, there was a historic meeting with the famous pilot Aurel Vlaicu, where he was presented as the national hero of Romania.

Since 1917, the railway operated on the site of the future airport, then the hangar and the first terminal building were built, which by the mid-1930s were completely reconstructed. However, due to the lack of a concrete strip, all takeoffs and landings were made on the ground. As a result of the increase in the number of flights and passenger traffic in 1953, the runway length of 2000 meters was built.

Currently, the area of the terminal is 2700 square meters. Nearby there is a parking for 32 cars and 5 trucks.

The most important function of the airport is the transportation of goods to Western Europe and the Middle East.
