Description:

Corvinov Castle is an ancient family castle of the Hunyadi family, located in the Romanian city of Hunedoara, in southern Transylvania. One of the most popular tourist attractions of this region.

Corvin Castle was built in the middle of the fifteenth century on the site of a former military fort. The castle was built for a long time - more than twenty years. The owners constantly rebuilt the main building, erected towers and extensions, expanded the surrounding park. In total, the castle was replaced by twenty-two owners, and each sought to contribute to the construction of something different. As a result of the protracted construction, the castle mixed a variety of architectural styles, ranging from Gothic to Renaissance. The architecture of Corvin Castle is absolutely unique.

Over its centuries-old history, the castle has given rise to many legends and conjectures. It is believed that it was in his dungeons that the Hunyadi family kept the deposed Vlad the Tepes, known as Count Dracula.

Today in the castle of Corvinov is a historical museum, and the castle itself acts as one of the exhibits. This gloomy, majestic structure is shrouded in a halo of antiquity, and never lacks tourists.
