Sinaia

Sinaya - a resort of Romanian kings

Description:

Peleš Palace is considered to be the most beautiful palace and interesting museum in Romania. The architecture of the palace harmoniously combines the range of styles of the English Renaissance, German Baroque and French Rococo. The palace belonged to King Carol I and Queen Elizabeth and was built for 40 years between 1873 and 1914, when the king died. The construction of the palace was led by Doder and Schulz, and later by the Czech Karel Liman, who completed Peles.

Pelesh was first discovered in 1883. The castle had a heat station and a power plant - the first in Europe. Later in the castle operated elevator, telephone, vacuum cleaner and cinema. The Palace of Peles is named after the river that flows in the park.

The exterior architecture of the Pelesha Palace and most of the interiors resemble the characteristics of the New Renaissance: island roofs, towers, the predominance of vertical lines. The terraces of the palace, in the style of the Italian New Renaissance, are decorated with statues, vessels, columns, fountains, making up a picturesque landscape.

Inside the palace of Peleš, there are also features of decoration of other styles: Italian, English, French, Spanish-Moorish, Turkish, Baroque and Rococo, as well as elements of the new art nouveau movement. Characteristic of the halls of the palace is the wooden decoration - the main value of the museum.
