Belgrade

Belgrade for his own. Street Art and Other Adventures

Description:

This is definitely the brightest and fun of our excursions in Serbia. We had to travel half the world to Belgrade, which is one of the world’s capitals of street art, to realize that through street art and alternative places hidden from the eyes of travelers, it is easiest to understand and get to know the country, to understand how people live in it, what they care about. And instantly feel completely your own here. It is a hell of a gamble to look for hidden hidden places and art objects in the middle of the city: an underground self-captured designer quarter, a street art gallery or a magnificent mural of street art classics. We will make our way through the aisles, where no sane person would even think to stick his nose, find unusual bars and vintage shops, find gardens in the alleyways, look into the centers of alternative culture and take many vivid photos. And all this - a stone's throw from the front quarters. We'll try a lot of delicious things. And every time we make another discovery, we will feel at least like Columbuses. That's why we travel, isn't it?

On the tour we will talk about the alternative cultural scene of Belgrade, about squatters and underground art. Who paints on the walls and why? And why is it that very respectable people sometimes do this in Belgrade? How did independent culture breathe life into dying spaces? How did jazz conquer Belgrade? Who misses Yugoslavia and why? Spoiler: Not the ones you would expect: Could it have occurred to you that football fans are struggling to bring culture and education to the masses? Why is Serbian creativity called "crazy"? We will see bright murals of artists from all over the world, visit a street gallery, look into abandoned, underground and hidden spaces. We will visit the designer quarter, contemporary art galleries, unusual bars and clubs, one of the independent cultural centers and vintage shops. And be sure to try a very decent craft beer from Belgrade breweries and handmade sweets. Come here!

P.S. From Thursday to Sunday in the afternoon, we will be able to visit the new – and completely insane – museum in addition to the tour.
