Old Town and Södermalm
Description:
The old town and Södarmalm district are perhaps the most attractive corners of Stockholm. Architecture, amazing views, fascinating stories about kings, executions and ghosts - all this awaits you on our three-hour walk.
Our tour starts at the Museum of Photography (Fotografiska). It is here that we have to pass the first test: climb the stairs to a high cliff, to immediately literally feel the local landscape and visit the shoes of Stockholm residents living in these parts, forced to overcome such obstacles almost daily. What a reward! There, upstairs, we will have a breathtaking view of several islands of the city and ancient wooden buildings, so not typical of modern European capitals!
From here we will begin to descend gradually to the Old Town, listening to stories about Swedish witch trials, executioners and the Russian farmstead. Well, in the medieval heart of the city, we will already see the main attractions, without which a trip to Stockholm can not be considered complete: the main square, the smallest statue, the monument to St. George who kills the dragon, the runic stone, the narrowest street, the Cathedral - this is only a small part of what awaits us on this day!
