Description:

The Church of St. Ananias is an indispensable component of all pilgrimage and tourist routes. It is difficult to call the church of St. Ananias a traditional church, in fact it is a crypt - an underground temple dating back to the times of ancient Christianity. The church now belongs to the Catholic community.

Once in the dungeons of the temple, you will feel the spirit of the persecuted faith, in ancient times hiding from the pursuers.

Ananias was a disciple of Jesus and is described as one of the Seventy Apostles, whose mission is recorded in Luke 10. He was sent by God to heal Paul’s blindness and join him with the Church. Ananias became the first bishop of Damascus.
