About the company:

The Anchorage Museum was opened to celebrate the centenary of the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1968. The museum began with an exhibition of 60 paintings and 2,600 historical and ethnographic objects, which were seconded here from the local historical society.

The area of the museum is 16 thousand square meters. The unique facade of the building is made of huge metal structures, including isolated areas of melted glass.

Since its opening, the collection of the museum has increased several times, and now it consists of 25 thousand exhibits and 500,000 historical photographs. The permanent collection focuses on Alaskan history, Northern art and ethnography. Among the exhibits are drawings from early European expeditions to Alaska and works by contemporary artists. The entire gallery is occupied by paintings by the famous Alaskan artist Sidney Lawrence.

The Anchorage Museum receives more than 180,000 visitors a year.
