Description:

The Church of St. Alban was built between the World Wars in 1926. It is an Anglican church and was originally a government church.

The Church of St. Alban is a church in the Anglican province of Tanzania. An Anglican ecclesiastical province may consist of at least four dioceses. It elects its own bishops, approves the canons of local church administration and has the right to review the office in accordance with local traditions. In 2006, the Church of St. Alban became the cathedral of the diocese.

The church building is made in a typical English style - a wide church house-base and a tower with a bell. The English style is accentuated by pointed windows.

It serves not only for services and ceremonies, but also as a meeting place for the bishops of the Anglican Church of Tanzania.
